Make a floating shelf

This course is designed as an introduction to working with wood and is aimed at complete beginners with no previous experience or those wishing to go back to absolute basics. At the end of the day you will take home a finished shelf with recesses for tea light holders (the shelf can be left plain if preferred).
The course explains the issues of working with a natural material and explains how to turn the raw material into a beautifully polished product.  You will learn how to sharpen a plane blade, hand plane a board to size and  use a cabinet scraper to remove minor imperfections. Finally you will sand, detail and apply a finish to the piece.
The course costs £135 which includes a timber of your choice, concealed shelf supports and tea light holders.
